Free Range is hull number 9 of 9 of the Slocum 37 series and she is a serious blue water cruiser, as her specs show. She was built by the Hai-O Yacht Building Corp in Taiwan in 1988. Naval architect Stan Huntingford has incorporated into this sturdy double ender both seaworthiness and ample interior space that offers steady and comfortable cruising. The Slocum 37 is a development of his earlier design of the Rafiki 37.
Free Range has a full keel, tons of storage, and all the electronic goodies you will need to keep you cruising in safety and comfort.
With only two sets of owners, both of which took the most excellent care of her, Free Range is ready, right now, to take you around the world, island hopping in the Bahamas, or day-sailing in your local sailing grounds. She is a sturdy, solid boat and will keep you safe and comfortable as you explore the world.
Free Range is US Coast Guard registered and has sailed offshore up and down the US east coast, cruised the Bahamas, Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico, and the eastern Caribbean islands. Although she has served us well, we are ready to continue our lives back home in Colorado, so, sadly, we must part with her.
We are currently sailing her in the Caribbean and will be taking her back to the Norfolk, VA area in Spring 2015. If you are looking for a blue water cruiser that is ready to go now, give us a call! Come get her in the islands and let your cruising adventure begin in paradise or we can bring her to you on the US east coast.
